Rebuilding forgotten Lego that were missing instructions

1963 Lego French Ad : The House

How to Build the See-Through House from a 1963 LEGO Ad (Yes, Really)

Once upon a time—specifically, in 1963—LEGO houses didn’t need fancy things like hinges, Wi-Fi, or even a fourth wall. In fact, if you look closely at this gloriously vintage French LEGO ad, you’ll notice something delightfully curious: you can see straight through the house.

Not because it’s haunted (probably), but because there doesn’t seem to be a back wall at all. Either that, or the girl building it has unlocked some kind of transparency spell. Through the big, bright windows, her body mysteriously appears inside the house—which is either architectural genius or 1960s Photoshop.

On this page, you’ll find a full brick inventory and instructions to build this charming slice of mid-century LEGO suburbia. Whether you’re recreating your childhood, restoring lost LEGO dreams, or simply in the mood to build something with more windows than secrets, this is for you.

Classic design. Bright red roof. A complete lack of privacy. This is peak LEGO.

You can find here the instructions & inventory to build the truck in the boy’s hands.

You can find on this page a MOC version of the house with a back wall and lower roof.

Since the roof is vast, I recommend that you put bricks to reinforce the structure from the inside of the house.
