The Nice People Apartment Tower

On page 2 of the German edition of Idea Book 238-1, there is a small injustice hiding in plain sight. If you look carefully at the left edge of the scene, tucked behind larger and more photogenic buildings, you will notice a modest structure that the photographer clearly did not give much attention to. Half hidden, barely visible, almost cropped out of existence.

Frankly, it’s a bit rude.

The poor building didn’t even get a proper pose. No central placement, no flattering angle, not even a respectful amount of pixels. Just a quick appearance at the edge of the frame before the camera moved on to more glamorous neighbors.

But here at VintageLegoBuilds.com, we will not ignore it like the original photographer did. This building deserves its moment in the spotlight. It deserves attention, reconstruction, instructions, and perhaps even a little personality.

Which is why I decided to call it The Nice People Apartment Tower.

Why that name? Well, when a building is treated this unfairly, you can only assume the people living inside must be very nice. The kind of neighbors who water your plants when you’re away, hold the elevator door, and pretend not to notice when your LEGO collection has quietly taken over the entire living room. The original image gives us very little to work with, so this reconstruction required a bit of detective work — interpreting shapes, proportions, and architectural hints from the few visible bricks. The result is my best interpretation of what this overlooked tower might have looked like if the camera had simply taken two steps to the left.
