Rebuilding forgotten Lego that were missing instructions

IB 238 – Lego City Bank

Hello vintage LEGO lovers 🏦

Deep in the background of page 2 of the German edition of Idea Book 238-1, behind the colorful townhouses and lively traffic circle, stands a tall and rather mysterious structure. It is easy to miss at first glance, but once you notice it, its rigid vertical lines and endless rows of windows give it a certain authority.

In my imagination, this building could only be one thing: The LEGO City Bank.

Unlike many of the more playful houses in the scene, this tower feels serious. Very serious. Its façade repeats the same pattern floor after floor, like a disciplined grid designed by someone who truly trusted geometry. The structure is demanding in transparent bricks and white plates, which create those long horizontal bands of windows that wrap around the building like layers of glass and concrete.

One can easily picture the activity inside: quiet offices, important paperwork, discreet vaults somewhere in the depths of the building, and perhaps a cautious accountant who insists that every brick be counted twice.
