Vintage Lego Builds

Rebuilding forgotten Lego that were missing instructions

Idea Book 238-1 : Brutalist City Hall

Today’s construction is a faithful and elegant reinterpretation of the white modernist building seen in the LEGO Idea Book 238-1 (page 2).

Idea Book 238-1 : Page 2

The model clearly embodies Mid-Century Modern and Brutalist influences, both prevalent in northern Europe in the 1950s–1970s. Given the Danish origin of LEGO and the period of publication (late 1960s), this building is likely inspired by Scandinavian civic architecture. In this free interpretation, I improvised the side and the back of the building, and didn’t propose anything for the interior of the building. What I propose here respects everything we can see on the picture.

You can find here all the other builds of the picture.
You can also find here a MOC version with a minimalistic Museum interior.
